Hi,
MMM 2002 in Tokyo was held in Inokashira Koen (near Kichijoji) on May 6
(Monday: national holiday) from 1:00 to 5:00PM.
This was the 2nd MMM held in Tokyo and about 800 people participated (up
from last year's 300).
There were belly dancing, street performance, free speech, costume
contest and music.
The high point was when the raggae musicians played their original ganjah
song.
It was a peaceful tune and many sang along with joy.
Many enjoyed free servings of hemp seed noodle and rice gruel.
People stood in fron of the display panels describing the truth about
cannabis and read them enthusiastically including the local pedestrians
who just happened to come by.
There was also a booth showing the testimonies from cannabis arrestees.
It was a successful event and participants felt that cannabis reform
movement is surely progressing here in Japan.
